During the just concluded Holy week, all my mind was consumed with was love. Of course I reflected on the suffering and death of Christ but I was more struck by His immense love
Love is something we all crave and cannot do without. We ought to love God, others and ourselves. But I can’t help but wonder if we have and understand true love. Why do we even call it “true love”? Love is only true, never false. So the question is do we understand and have love enough to give Love?
Wikipedia tells me that Love encompasses a variety of different emotions and mental states. It also states that love can also be a virtue and may describe compassionate and affectionate actions towards others and self. It also gives many more definitions of love.
But all these doesn’t explain the love Christ showed for us. He put us first, left his comfort, suffered and then died for us. The depth of his love cannot be comprehended. It is that deep and I long to love as he did and continues to.
I know that God is love and so his love is reflected in everything he does. He created us out of love and to love him. So how do we love like Jesus did? How do we fulfill his commandments of loving God, others and self? What actions should I perform as love?
